Parallax is track #10 on Truth Hurts. This song was probably the most gratifying song to have complete. It almost didn't make the album (three or four times) and it also took the longest to record out of all the songs. We demoed it. It wasn't fast enough. We recorded it again. It was too fast. We slowed it down. We sped it up. And eventually one day we just nailed it.
The lyrics to Parallax were written over the course of a month. They were inspired by a place called Plum Village in south of France and the teachings of author, poet, and peace activist Thich Nhat Hanh.
Parallax is a personal and introspective look into the spiritual journey.

"Parallax"
Concise is my mind and heart. Salvation, praise in thought. I'm able. Patiently. More like thee. Needed guidance. On my knees.
You so flagrant, you seek justice to save your soul.
You my neighbor, we need silence to save us all.
Sink or swim. Sail in the wind. Crash upon the rocks.
Dawning, a chance to use our mind. To change the way we view our lives.

And I know you went out fighting.
Stood up to the tallest titans. They fought with greed and anger. You returned with peace and love.

All this time we were the same. Now I know that's not the case. Like it was some big secret. Now you've got no one to blame.
